Both of those USB sound devices look interesting.  I wonder if 
either has a "mic boost" to enable use with dynamic mics (e.g. 
Heil)?  Neither product mentions Windows 7 compatibility, but I 
guess they work ok under that OS?

For USB sound cards these two have separate mic and line inputs 
and
seem to work well with WriteLog and N1MM Logger:
