Don,
The 17m appears to be a resonance issue. I'd suspect an input device rather
than the computer itself (since once the input clears, the messages go out).
Suggestion: The keyboard is most suspect (it has the most components, eh?).
Ferrite on the keyboard cable -or- another keyboard. Also, inputs like
audio (mic) cable, etc.
Do you have a field strength meter (even a cheap one). If you can reduce the
sensitivity it makes a nice sniffer. I've used one to locate a bad shield
(poorly soldered) on a PL-259.
