[RTTY] What's Digital WAS

Dear members, de JF2IWL

I have been wondering from WAS Digital has started on LoTW
some years ago.

For exsample:
I have completed 20m band JT65 WAS=50
However, 20m's Digital is 48

Is LoTW still seeking or matching huge data 
Or valid QSO for Digital WAS is from an appointed day?
I cannot seek details about WAS Digital.
