Tom,
Have a look in device manager -> ports. If you can't see the ports
listed then re-assign your usb-com to a lower number, ignore all the
warnings and see if it works.

Subject: [SD-User] USB-COM ports - (COM13)
When setting up SD, the port for controlling the Radio is selectable
from COM1 to COM8.
I am using a USB-COM port adaptor and in system/hardware/device manager
I am told that my USB-Serial Com ports are COM12 and COM13.
In 'Advanced Settings' for Com12, I am told that Coms 1-11 are in use -
I don't have that many devices!
Does anyone know how to solve this problem.
