Thanks to those kind folk who responded to my plea for help.

I have since got it working - but don't quite know how! (I did re-boot the
PC, to take another look at the thing this morning, and the re-boot appears
to have made all the difference.........)

I'm sure someone will here know the answer - I wonder whether someone would
be good enough to help?

I have been playing with an old (Win98) laptop, and have installed SD onto
it. In logging mode, it works fine. I am trying to get it to send CW via the
parallel port (as there are no usb ports). I have managed this before, but
using a different PC.

I am using a lead that I have made up and successfully used previously, as
per the excellent SD manual. It has a 25pin plug to 1/4inch stereo jack for
connecting to my FT1000MP. The problem is that I can't seem to make SD 'key'
the radio, and send CW. (I am using VOX). However, when I issue the "TUNE"
command, it does 'key' the rig. I have the following set up:
Radio 1 Keyer port = 51
Sidetone = OFF
Winkey = Disabled
CAPS lock on
ESM enabled

Can anyone suggest what I am missing or doing wrong??
