I thought you'd like to know that one of your sister clubs here, Atlanta
Radio Club, is sponsoring a new award: a "Worked All Georgia" Award. As
you
know, Georgia is a bewildering patchwork of 159 counties, second in
number
only to Texas. So, ever prone to finding something good in everything,
we've
come up with a challenge: try to make 2-way contact with at least one
ham in
each of these 159 counties.

Because there are so many counties, and because some of the counties
have
few (maybe 0) hams, there are intermediate awards for 50 and 100
counties.
And this award will tie nicely into the Georgia QSO party (maybe a
"WAG-a-thon"?). And perhaps we'll even have some mobile Georgia
"DXpeditions" to hard-to-get counties to add to the fun.

If not too much to ask, we'd appreciate it if you could announce the
award
in your newsletter and post a link on your club website. Further
information
is available at:
http://www.saf.com/arc/wagaward.htm.

Thanks a lot, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any
questions,
require any further information, or have any suggestions for ways to
improve
the award or make it more fun.

Skip Kazmarek (KG4TUL)
