SECC Team #5
No yagis -- yet (TH5 still laying on back porch). 10 and 15 deader than disco,
but managed a little short skip late in the afternoon. Two thunderstorms took
down my zepp both times. Spent most of the afternoon wasting my off-time. Had
a really nice 1.5 hour run on 14.314, only to be lectured by a net nazi from the
'Pacific Maritimer's Net' that the frequency was theirs (the 1 google hit on the
name was impressive), and proceeded to curse and QRM me with a recording of
another contester calling CQ. Never gave a callsign, but guess my remark about
how a big amplifier doesn't make up for certain male sexual inadequacies.
Prolly shouldn't have said that, but frequency fascists can really bring the
worst out of anyone. Oh well, it was time for a break anyway.
Anyway, aside from the bad condx early, bad weather, the incredible noise on 80
and 160, and Mr. Ain't Got None Lately on 14.314, it was a heck of a lot of fun.
Didn't plan on using up 9.5 hours of contest time, but I was just having too
good of a time.
See you next time, and thanks for everyone for the Q's and a great Saturday.
