Condx good Friday night but bad Saturday. There was also more noise Saturday
when rain moved in.
Added some wire to my 80 meter inverted L Friday evening. I really didn't get
it totally tuned - It
was resonant around 1750. Just used the tuner to use it that way. I got it
resonant on Saturday during
the day around 1835 but when I added the extra 40 feet of feedline from my
antenna switch to the shack it was resonant
around 1750 again. Not sure what is going on. I probably need to put an UNUN or
series capacitor on it to get it
tuned right. Wasn't totally pleased with performance of inverted L. At times I
could work EU on one call and other
times they CQ'ed in my face. I had a hard time getting anyone in CA. I think I
missed all the CA sections except for
EB and SV. Heard several of the sections I needed - SCV,SF,NV,VE6 - but they
CQ'ed in my face !!!
Hopefully I will get it all worked out before CQWW 160 CW...
