1. QRP Fox Hunts: Thursday nights local on 40M (7030-7050) and Tuesday
nights local (3550-3570), 0200-0330Z. Foxes on Thursday Feb. 4 are
K4BAI and AB7R (Greg in WA). Foxes on Tuesday are K4AVX (John in KY)
and AB9CA (Dave in AL). Work only the two Foxes. Run no more than 5W.
Exchange: RST, Name, SPC, Power.
2. NCCC NS Ladder and SNS slow speed sprint practices. Slow speed (18
WPM max): 0200-0215Z Friday (Thursday night local). 20, 40, 80M. NS:
0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local). 20, 40, 80, 160. Common
rules: 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange: both calls,
#, name, SPC.
3. North American Sprint CW Practice Session. 0200-0259Z Sat (Fri
night local). Regular NA Sprint rules except no team competition. See

4. Vermont QSO Party. 48 hours of weekend UCT. 160-UHF CW, Ph.

5. YLISSB QSO Party, CW. 48 hours of weekend UCT. CW/RTTY all bands.
Exchange: RST + Name + SPC + YLISSB# if you have one. Usually very
little CW activity in this one.
6. 10-10 International Winter SSB Contest. 48 hours of weekend UCT.
10M Phone. Exchange: Name + SPC + 10-10 # if you have one.
7. Black Sea Cup International Contest. 12Z Sat to 1159Z Sun. 160-10M
CW, SSB. Exchange: (RS)T _ ITU Zone #. HQ stations send RS(T) +
Organization abbreviation. Black Sea Area stations sent RS(T) + "BS" +
country abbreviation. BSCC members send RS(T) + "BS" + BSCC member #.
Everyone can work everyone.
8. FYBO Winter QRP Sprint. 14-24Z Sat. 160-10M CW, SSB. 5W maximum
power. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC _ Name + power out + temperature at
operating position. You will find some QRP activity in this one,
particularly around 7040 and 14060.
9. Minnesota QSO Party. 14-24Z Sat. 160-VHF+, CW/RTTY/PSK, Phone (FM,
SSB). Exchange: Name + SPC or MN county abbreviation. Note that this
contest has moved from two-letter abbreviations to three-letter
abbreviations this year, so you may want to update your .mlt files as I
have done.
10. British Columbia QSO Party. 16Z Sat to 0759Z Sun. 160-6M. CW,
SSB, Digital. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or BC District Abbreviation. I
have seldom heard any activity in this one.
11. Delaware QSO Party. 17Z Sat to 2359Z Sun. 160-10M. CW, Phone,
Digital/RTTY. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or DE county.
12. Mexico International RTTY Contest. 18Z Sat to 1759Z Sun. 80-10M
RTTY. Exchange: RST + Serial # or XE State Abbreviation. Everyone can
work everyone.
13. NCJ North American Sprint Contest, CW. 00-04Z Sun (Sat night
local). 20, 40, 80M CW. Exchange: both calls, #, Name, SPC. One kHz
QSY rule for calls. Five kHz QSY rule for CQs. KU8E is getting up
Southeast Sprint Coalition Teams, so please e-mail Jeff at

16. First Class CW Operators Marathon (FOC). This is a closed contest
for members only. 21Z Friday to 21Z Sunday. 160-10M CW. Exchange:

Plenty to choose from this weekend. Almost anything except VHF or a
