Great Question Greg - I've often wondered the same.
I got credit for 921 QSOs out of 926 for CQWW
.1% (1) incorrect and .4% (4) not in log - lost 1 zone which really hurt.
Score was dropped 1.7%
Logging makes a big difference - in the ARRL DX contest KS1J and I were
only 771 points apart out of 1,009.785 ponts or .07% (less than 1 QSO).
Don't know who had the best log yet.

Hi Folks,
What would be a good "error %" in a contest like CQWW CW?
% Calls copied incorrectly?
% Calls not in log?
Is there a club competition for "most accurate logs" or "least accurate
logs"?
How good is good and how bad is bad? Is perfection really achievable?
