Well for all that was asking, IT WORKS GREAT!!! It took right off when I
set it for 8bit packet port = true.
Lets back up a bit. I have a KAM, 486-66, and an IC-765. I am setup with
CT, NA, & TRLOG and I use LOGPlus for logging. Both work with the whole
mess!
My KB2HUN.CFG file has the following info (forgive typos):
RADIO ONE CONTROL = SERIAL 1
RADIO ONE BAUD = 4800
RADIO ONE NAME = IC765
RADIO ONE TYPE = IC765
RADIO ONE RECEIVER = 44
PACKET PORT = SERIAL 2
PACKET BAUD RATE =4800
EIGHT BIT PACKET PORT = TRUE
That is the whole file. I know you can add more. I think that any of the
control-J commands can be added for faster setup (right tree?). If you do
a hard rest on the KAM and have the above parameters setup, you can get
the KAM to configure for you. I had to change the ABAUD to 4800. Mine was
setup for 9600. I was also asked what kind of cable did I use. It was a
standard serial cable, not a null modem cable.
My cable for the IC-765 is a homebrew interface for computer control using
a single MAX-232 chip and a couple of parts. If there are any other
questions, please let me know. I hope this helps others. Many people
helped and I THANK YOU!!!
