Hey Pete,
There's no problem running TR in a DOS window as long as you disable the
IO ports as far as Windows is concerned, and set the properties for the
TR .exe file to full 100% resource allocation.
It's under WIN2000 and NT where the problem comes in because neither
will relinquish full control of system resources to any program. There,
it would be necessary to write a custom .vxd routine to handle the CW as
has already been pointed out.
Fact is, TR runs under even older machines running WIN95 DOS windows. I
have one old IBM 486 laptop machine we use for FD that works fine as
long as the setup above is done.
