I figured out my problem with some help from Ron... It was the interface
that I have for my radio. I have an FT-1000 home brew interface. My
interface is created with a MAX-232. IC.
I did build a real quick interface on a perf board. This got me up and
running (then I had other problems, so much for a serious effort). I would
like to know what interfaces people are using. If it is done with a MAX-232
IC, would love to find out which chip and schematic you have. I will look
at all and any interfaces that people build.... (too chip to buy one)
