Hi Mark -
You can do what you want with POST.
Create two new ascii trmaster.asc files from your trmaster.dta files with
POST, using menu choices: U, E, and A. Then combine the two ascii files
with the editor of your choice and convert that combined ascii file again
using POST U, E, and B.
You will have to do some renaming of the ascii files before they are
combined to make a new trmaster.dta file.
