Like I said look at the schematic of the radio, as I have only older and later
Ten Tecs to the OmniA. IF it has series voltage regulators to step down the
voltage, lower voltage would not work, but you could still use a fast blow
fuse or the lamp as current limiting to first power up, and see if anything
looks fishy, or smells. I heatily encourage you to at least go to Radio Shack
and get a $20 dollar or so VOM analog meter which has ohms ranges of several
values, and current ranges to check for leakage as I described for any suspect
large electrolytics. Smaller values, like 10 MF or less I would not worry too
much about initially.
Look mainly for the corrosion I mentioned, in any parts of the radio. Salt
air, if there was ocean storage, would be a culprit.
