Bob,
My response to your post was to try and generate some
spirited debate and perhaps provide some food for
thought, reviewing it though I can see that it may
have come across a bit adversarial and acidic, not my
goal nor my intent, my apologies.

"I'm sure you, like me, are seeing the "ouch" to the
suggested $3300 price here on the list."
Yes ouch, but rest assured given my bent for wanting
all this DSP stuff I would send $3300 to TN long
before I?d send $3895 to TX for a Globe King 500D
reproduction.

"I've worked with DSP starting some 10 years ago. It's
a wonderful tool but it is not a total answer, even
with thousands of lines of code."
Believe it or not I do actually agree with this point,
DSP is only a tool, and it does have some downsides,
but I also beleive that its benefits now outweigh its
negatives.
To distil my previous post to the core point, I do
believe that there really is very little difference in
the actual RF/AF hardware requirements that would
cover virtually all of the various operating
activities or styles. Something that has only recently
become possible because of DSP hardware and software.

Duane
