Over the past two week-ends my Omni VI+ has been in the field. On Saturday, 6-15-02 the Radio Amateur Transmitting Society ran W4PQP at the RC Cola & Moon Pie Festival in Bell Buckle, TN. It was not flawless, as it was impossible to get a good Earth ground and our antenna was too low and close. It worked great in 2001 at the same location.Still, ALL enjoyed the Omni on SSB. On FD we were 2A TN and rid of the rf problem. Just had added a 285 filter and ALL loved the break-in. Also had a GOTA station (not TT)that really introduced MANY to hf radio. SSB station was MP 1000 and garnered about 1/4 as many points. More than 50 people signed our attendance log. Fun was had by ALL. Ten-Tec forever!! 73, Ariel, K4AAL |
