I have sent an email off to Ten Tec to see what they have to say regarding
the proper procedure for setting up the Carrier Oscillator on the Omni-D.
When I used the procedure in the manual I had real problems getting the cw
filter working like it should. I never could get the passband set up
properly so what I tried was setting it up by ear and using the counter to
get the cw offest correct and that works much better anyway but think I
would like to be sure that I have this right. Seems that when I listen to
my signal on the Omni 6 and then transmit with the Omni 6 it is all set
correctly but dont know if ssb is working right or not since I don't have a
mic for the Omni-D. Oh well, guess will have to wait and see what TT says.

I can not imagine that the filters could have that much variation in them
that you could not use a set freqs to align the carrier oscillator up with
however.
