Outlook 2002 does not work that way. The correct thing to do is for the list
administrator/server administrator to reconfigure to the way it is supposed
to be.

FWIW -
The cut-and-paste works, but unfortunately clumsy at best. I seldom use the
buttons on any list generated e-mail. Putting the cursor over the intended
recipients' e-mail identity in the header and clicking will open a new
document addressed to that individual or entity. While this can have its
tedious edges, it seems to work for the majority of situations. The few
minuses are definitely outweighed by the time taken to shuffle over the
unnecessary chaff of misdirected e-mails on this and other reflectors.
This applies to Outlook/Outlook Express, for sure; probably others.
Thanks,

"Hitting reply or reply to all will make no difference. The list
administrator seems to want it to work this way. I asked him
to change it but so far no results. Perhaps a few emails to him would
help. This is really causing problems. The only way to reply to someone
directly is to cut and paste the address in the To: slot. "
