Hello All, I have an Omni VI/Opt 3 that I just started using on PSK31. I have it cranked back to about 20-25 watts. Everyone tells me that the signal is extremely clean at that level. However, the heat sink does warm up a bit, even at that power level. If I ever decide to try RTTY or SSTV, then I?ll probably need to cool the finals a bit. Tentec offers a fan kit. What?s involved in installing this fan on an Omni? The Tentec website implies that it?s an easy bolt-on fit for the newer radios, but what about the older Omnis and Paragons? Does anyone have any experience with this? Many thanks. Bob NE5RD |
