There's hope still! Boeing is a real live company with lobbying prowess. Tom Daschle's wife is a top Boeing lobbyist, for example, and makes a lot more than he does. Imagine if the congressional Democrats (a) somehow learn about Boeing's concerns (I wonder how they would get the word, hmmmm); (b) were told of the election-year origin and attractiveness of BPL to the Administration; and (c) decide that letting the President have such an election-year goodie is not such a good idea.
