That's for certain, I'm an audio freak along with my ham radio hobby.  
Why bother "enhancing" an SSB signal to the point of illegality, the 
ammount of sound you gain is sooooo little.  My home stereo is +/- a few 
db from 16hz through 20khz (yes 16hz!). That is some high quality audio 
my friends.. 100hz-6khz is NOT going to give you a hi-fi voice, it'll be 
markedly better, but who cares when the goal is simply to communicate? 
go do FM broadcast, get yourself a multiband limiter and "enhance" 
(squash) your singal as much as you like, but don't do it on the ham-bands.
