Wasn't that one of the features that Ten Tec built into the Argo V; the ability to send CW with the PTT in case you forgot to pack the key or paddle?

Well yes ... a tune button would be nice. On the other hand --- I assume the Argo V has separate connections for a paddle and a straight key? Why not dust off your old J-38 and use it as a "tune" button?

There is no separate connection for a paddle and a straight key. You can use a straight
key by plugging it into the paddle jack and turning the keyer off. To get a
"tune" signal with a paddle connected, just key the mic PTT switch with the
Argonaut in the CW position.

Okay folks.
Just received my new play toy ... Argonaut V. Have owned a lot of Ten
Tec Rigs in the past. Everyone that I can remember has a "TUNE" button
or switch. Where is it on the Argonaut V? I can get a steady carrier by
turning off the keyer and holding one side of the paddle, but that is a
pain to go thru every time I change bands and need to retune my antenna.
I looked in the manual (almost as hard as asking for highway directions)
but did not find it. There is a "Tone" button, only one letter off, but
apparently that is enough for it to not work as a "TUNE" button. Tnx for
you help. 73/Crit
