[TenTec] OMNI VII Question

I don't remember if it is normal or not but is the 'MON' label on the 
bottom of the screen always set to 'ON'  or do I have something wrong 
with my radio?  Pressing 'ALT' and 'MON' will bring up the monitor 
setting so you can set the monitor to whatever percent you want and that 
works fine but like the other functions, is is supposed to set to 'OFF' 
when it is pressed again?
