I bought mine off of eBay. For some reason they were about 3x more expensive on their website. Only took a couple of days for it to arrive.

I use N1MM for contest logging and DX4WIN for general logging. I think both of those support the Omni VI. However, if you try some software that doesn't have an Omni VI as a selection just try one of the older Icom rigs such as IC735. The Omni VI & VI+ use the Icom command set.
