[TenTec] Omni VI Opt 3 Encoder Noise

I have acquired a second Omni VI Opt 3 which seems exhibit behavior a little 
different than my other.  With headphones on and with a CW filter engaged, I 
can clearly hear the synthesize noise as I tune the main encoder knob.  Is 
there anything that can be done for this?
