Hi Mark,

You first need to determine what your actual goal is here.
Most IF filters are designed to create proper selectivity, matching the mode and current way of operating and signals on the band. And then we still can have as many solutions as there are opinions.

If you are after the maximal (wider) audio fidelity during TX, you need to check the ESSB websites (=Extended SSB). They can tell you what IF filterbandwidth is optimal at your max DSP setting.
Next you probably can order a custom IF filter at INRAD.

From your question "did it improve transmit fidelity to the receive
stations?" I think you are best served by learning what higher fidelity TX sound is all about and at what different hardware locations/buttons/menus you can tinker to get results. Even more to learn what the limitations are and which parts of the whole AF audio spectrum will be relevant for you and what not.

Look for the ESSB websites, there's plenty of detailed info there.

Has anyone used a 2800Hz filter in their Omni/Paragon rig in the 9mHz slot to widen their band width?

Just wondering if it was worth the effort, and did it improve transmit fidelity to the receive stations?
