Jim,
That makes a LOT more sense. I really saw no way that an external fault could
have caused the R2 (as mis-identified on my board and schematic) to fail. Now,
with your schematic information, it looks like perhaps the 20 ohm 25W resistor
could have been smoked if the K7A contacts never "made" and the surge
protection 20 ohm resistor was in-circuit continuously. K7 tests are definitely
in order. Thanks!
