Hello all,

Reporting back a while after my last attempt to fix my Omni VI (see below).
The Omni sat here for a while waiting for me to have the gumption to attack the
problem again. Yesterday I finally pulled the PLL board again from it’s hidden
cave. My resolve was to go ahead and re-heat/re-solder all of the connections
on that board; one of the suggestions I received via email. Unlike the
experience shared below, back in January, this time the PLL has been rock
(lock) solid. Success!

Thanks for all the suggestions and help! I wanted to share ’the rest of the
story.’
73,
Jim AF3Z

P.S. Somehow now, when I push the CW botton to hear the sidetone, I get two
tones: the sidetone frequency and a second one. The frequency of the new tone
depends on the setting of the RIT. Very interesting ;-)
