Pete,
This appears to be a low voltage power distribuiton board problem not the blame
RFI. I would suggest measure all voltages on the board +/- 5, VDC etc. If you
are fortunate, here lies the problem; if the gods are not smiling upon you
today, the problem could be the display and those, I believe, are no longer
available. My Orion 1 had multiple LVPS distibution board failures in addition
to 2 screen failures. The board due to my lack of mechanical aptitude had to
sent out for repair: always the caps.

Are you transmitting into a dummy load, or an antenna? Ten Tec radios,
Orion included, are very susceptible to stray RF in the shack. If the
problem exists on an antenna, but not on a good 50 ohm dummy load, then RF
getting into the Orion control circuits is likely the culprit.
