My proposal is that in both contests W/VE and EU should not call CQ in 30-35.
The ramifications are slightly different for each contest .
The main thing is that the definition should be changed to define exactly who
should or should not CQ rather than who should or should not contact who as the
latter definition creates the fights.
I am on the East Coast. My Beverages point away from the hoardes of USA
stations. I can hear way more EU than those to the West. I am not interested
in making the contests fairer as geography will always play an important part.
I am interested in making the contests more fun by:
1)getting rid of these ugly fights over who should or should not call CQ in the
window by defining it better.
2)encouraging stations from outside of W/VE and EU to participate more by giving
them a better shot at getting heard.
I think W/VE and EU can do OK with the free-for-all approach outside the window,
although I do have some compassion for the W6/W7 guys.
Let's change it by either:
1)getting rid of it
2)redefining its terms so no one can argue about whether they belong in it or
not.
I would prefer number 2, as it would make the contests more fun.
