This point is very important!!!!! especially the diode. The diode is
connected so that no current flows through the diode when the relay is
energized. When you remove power from the relay the collapsing field can
generate a spark which will jump an 1/8" gap! The diode serves as a path
for this reverse voltage. I ommited the diodes once and blew the switching
diodes out the front end of my TS-850!!!!!!
