Hi Oms,
Having lived in a high QRN area ( ZS-land) for many years, I would like to
give my comment.
In that sort of situation you are looking to try and reduce the width of the
forward lobe, as well as achieve a null off the back. The best antenna to
do that is a Beverage, at least 240m long. If you don't have that sort of
space available, then the next best thing, in my opinion, is a broadside
array of phased pennants. Spacing should be between 40 - 60m.
I used both when I operated as ZS5K, as I only had space for a single Bev.
The Bev was usually 8-10 dB better than my Tx vertical, and the twin Pennant
array was 4-6 dB better.
