Keep in mind there are often huge differences in receiving between
stations in the same general area. It also pays to check the digital
signals on the band. The digital signals on 1803.5 and 1851kHz (to
the east, not the 1851 signal from Europe) were very strong.
An EA8 running only ten watts was S-7 to S-9 (which correcting for
poor S meters translates to 25-35dB out of my noise floor). A ZS6
was very loud. FR8FU is often active on Topband around his
sunrise.
