Years ago, I bought a K2ZJ Beverage Box with the built-in pre-amp. Getting
a long-enough beverage onto my property in the right direction has proved
difficult, so I'm thinking about going to a K9AY loop or pennant. Does
anyone have any experience with the usability of the K2ZJ box with these
antennas? I presume that the step-down ratio of the matching transformer
is a bit low (400-500 ohms rather than 700-800) but wonder if this makes a
difference, particularly with the preamp, as long as the terminating
resistor is the right value. Any other design issues to look out for?
