Thanks to all who replyed, some interesting comments and reading.
I was however really more interested in current production Budget gear, for the
following reason..
Some of you very wisely suggested i look at the older equipment which was once
top of the range. The TS830 was one example given, Indeed i actually repaired
one of these beasties quite recently for a friend of mine (G3NSI) and was
impressed with its performance, however getting the parts to repair it was not
easy!! Infact spares to keep other modern classics going is also getting rather
hard. Add to this the fact that many Amature dealerships here in the U.K. seem
to be closing rather fast these days, and thus the sources for many dealer only
parts are just no longer availible
for equipment which is more than a couple of years old.
[i would be interested in the finding of other uk stations on this point].
Anyway the TenTec Jupiter is lookin a favorite at present !!!
any comments good or bad about this little beastie ??
