Hello cancelling, I've been trying to solve the noise problem for pretty much as long as I have stayed in BV. In vain. Noise is almost all I can hear on the top. 80 meters sounds better but the noise level is normally at about S7 to 9 with pre amp off on IC 737. My ocasional appearance on 80 allowed me to log a few dozens of East Cost/ Mid-West QSOs and a couple of hundreds of EU stations( of course eu path is much more favorable here). My best acheivement on Top is RA1ACJ followed by RN6BN. I tried a few things. I do experience serious BCI here which I managed to suppress using CIRQTELL FHT//21 1.8-13 filter(tnx W8LRL). I also installed a flag antenna ( thanks to W8LRL, RW1AC and UA2FZ) yet again to get frustrated with the immense line/ manmade noise still present. What do I do now? Should I try one of the noise cancellers available on the market? I checked W8JI's article on MFJ-1025/1026 units and also read a few reviews on e-ham.com about both MFJ-1025/1026 and ANC-4. Any suggestions? 73, de Art bw4/ua3vcs _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail _______________________________________________ Topband mailing list Topband@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/topband |
