U5WF has 65 Years in amateur radio - today Vlad Goncharsky
(ex UB5WF) celebrates 80 years.
In 1939 Vlad has studied CW himself and several months later beginnings
to work UE6BC (unlis).
It is him some first QSOs on 160м:
25 dec 1956 - OK3EE - first QSO on Top
....
17 dec 1958 - UA9CM - first Asia
....
16 Jan 1961 - W1ME, W1BB/1, W2EQS, VE1ZZ - firsts NA
22 Jan 1961 - G3ERN, G6BQ, DL1LB, G2NXJ

24 Feb 1962 - CQ WW 160m - 34 QSOs - first 160m contest
In "CQ", August, 1961, p.72 there is the signature to a photo UB5WF:
"UB5WF, Vlad Goncharsky, Lvov, Ukraine made 160 meter history this last
season when he worked W1ME, W1BB, W2EQS and VE1ZZ using 150 watts to
long wire. Many congratulations and thanks to Vlad for making this
possible. We hope to hear him again next year.(Tnx W1BB)"
The equipment at QSOs with USA/VE at Jan 16, 1961 : ant windom@25m,
German RX E52B1 and РА on German tubes L50.
I believe that it is the first QSOs USA/Ukraine and Canada/Ukraine and
may be and firsts USA/USSR and Canada/USSR (??)
Vlad, U5WF continues actively to work on HF now, but is rare on 160m.
