G'day
Listening to VK9XG pulling stations out of the 160m QRN and OTHR, it has
been very disappointing to hear (fairly frequently) that when Charlie gets
a partial call, some stations choose ignore this and continue to call,
clobbering the station whose call has been partially identified.
This has cost a number of stations contacts with VK9XG. Those who are
calling over the top of the station whose partial call has been identified
should think hard about the fact that their behaviour is VERY unlikely to
encourage Charlie to make a QSO with them.
Charlie has been going out to Christmas Island for 160m operation for
several years and has never experienced this problem before. Let's not
forget this is topband and the one place in the HF amateur radio spectrum
where there are still gentlemen and gentlewomen.
