Greetings all
There's gonna be a break in this lousy WX thursday and am anxious to get
a Beverage antenna up and running.
I don't have the recommended size ferrite rings for the txformer boxes -
but I do various other larger sizes to hand -
2 x rings with 2.25 Outer Diameter
1 x ring with same O.D but thicker (about 1 inch)
The last one is smaller but with 1.5 inch O.D.
Would any of these work? Could I use insulated hook up wire for the windings?
This is my first Beverage antenna following much reading of wise notes from
the various antenna gurus who pour their wisdom into this site (continued
thanks guys - it is devoured here!).
Activity: It does seem to be less than last year - condx were good last nite
- came into shack about 0340z after being woken by local station K9QRM -
W3UR was pounding in here s9+ but no other DX activity.
