I have to agree with Tom and the others here, having first hand experience
for the past 7 years living close to the beach and with constant trade
winds,
I can see the tube pins corroding so bad they "fall" off, but also the
rest of
the area that air intakes to is in the same shape, all my gear is corroded
someplace. Its covered when not in use, but as soon as the fans blow
your in trouble. If you run glass tubes you can see the white haze build
up from salt air drying on the tubes. The tubes are not all thats been
corroded.
As I am constantly told "part of the price of living in paradise"
Band seemed to be in poor shape out here last nite, only a couple
mainland qsos, this morning only half dozen JA signals coming through
and a couple UA9/UA0.
