I can't speak for the K9AY (but he's here to speak for himself). For 
the Beverage, the answer is YES. A choke formed by winding 7-10 
turns of the coax through a 2.4 inch diameter toroid of #31, #77, or 
#78 Fair-Rite material would reduce that coupling a lot.
