Top band was my first band of choice, right from when I was licensed
over 50 years ago. After a long break I am now planning to get back on
the band this winter, to try to work some CW DX, but I'm sure I'm well
out of touch with regard to operating technique.
So, on the understanding that I don't want to tread on people's toes, a
few questions:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. What are today's DX windows (frequencies by region/continent)?
2. What frequencies should I avoid (e.g. WSPR, beacons, QRP channels)?
3. Unless instructed otherwise, can I call a DX station on frequency or
should I always call up/down?
4. As I'm not a DX station, should I ever call CQ in the DX window(s)?
5. Any other rules of etiquette or handy tips I should know about?
