I find most of these too long -- my installations at 30" high over flat
midwest farmland would have excessive rear lobes if I followed those
recommendations.
310-330 ft. and 520-550 ft. work well. F/B on my longer Beverages is
sensitive to termination, but 810 ft. and 1080 ft. seem to be the best
lengths. (I use too-short ground rods since all my Beverages are seasonal.)
Like SWR, F/B is never the whole story anyway. At my QTH, I need
front-to-side with acceptable rearward rejection. F/S depends simply on
length, and best "overall rearward rejection" rarely corresponds to best F/B
in line with the wire.
