Jim,
The "correct information" comprises
techniques for ascertaining mutual inductance (which cannot be measured), and
for properly and effectively phasing antennas.
I followed ON4UN's recommendations after
chatting with him, and my pair of non-parasitic 80-meter phased verticals,
fed in quadrature through a simple 4-port phase shift network, display about
23-dB F/B ration under optimum conditions, with little gain over a dipole. The
verticals provide low-angle operation, and when conditions are favorable, they
work nicely---especially for receiving. I have about 3000-ft of radials under
my
1/4-wave antennas, which is not sufficient, but is a good start. HI

Hey, Alex - well a friend of mine has built one, has finished the
alignment and testing of it and he says it's working on the bench! We'll
find out soon enuff as he hands it over to fella ham to try out....
I
don't have the ON4UN book to see what "correct information" means....72, Jim
