Another trick that helps, mainly to widen the bandwidth but also to lower
the SWR a bit, is to feed the sloper with 1/4 wave of 75 ohm coax,
connecting it directly to the feedpoint on one end, and to your regular 50
ohm feedline at the other end.  (Remember to calculate in the velocity
factor when you're figuring out what length to use).  I've used this method
with a couple of 160 mtr half-slopers with excellent results.
