When we went to the new service definition, the Commission lumped us with
the CBers. When we accept the premise that Amateur Radio is
for communicating, then we have indeed joined the CB ranks.
The old Amateur Service definition was "for building and testing radio
apparatus".
The general consensus is that we can't build radio equipment to compete
with the
manufacturers. To this is I say Cocky-Pop. (or visa-versa)
