If you insist on using wire, and it isn't recommended (we
suggest wide solid copper strap) use at least 2/0 although
you can "get away" (maybe, if you're lucky) with #2. #4 and
#6 are just too inductive at lightning frequencies to be useful
and their ampacity is questionable too.

Now that we've discussed using braid as a ground, what are the opinions of
using #4 or #6 as the ground? I have also quit using braid but have gone the
way of using the heavy stranded stuff, not the fine cable that is used in
auto jumper cables. I've also known poeple to use copper pipe.
