I think a 4 el 20 meter quad on a 30 foot boom will beat a 20 meter yagi on a
30 foot boom. However, when the boom gets longer, the yagi will have more
gain. I have used many of each and this was my finding. When my station is
finished, I will have 2 triband quads, a 3 el at 40 feet and a 4 el at 75
feet. I expect they will account for the majority of my contest contacts even
though I will have stacks of yagis on 20-15-10.
