Hi Greg,
When I had my antenna's down the last time, I took both of my
bearings apart (1 tb3 and 1 tb4 by Hygain). The housing is made of alum
and the bearings are steel. I was haveing problems and thought that I
would lube them. I found that the alum housing had worn very rough and
bearings were hanging up. I cleaned them up and lubed them with a gud
low temp grease and re-assmed them. When I put the mast in again, I put
the wight of the mast and antenna's on the T2X and then tighten thrust
bearing in place and have had no other problems. I always left the
wieght
of antenna's on the bearing before but Hygain says T2X works better with
a pre-loaded vertical wieght. Maybe it will work for you....
